Gyan Pareek, MD Named Chief of Urology and President of Brown Urology, Inc.

Gyan Pareek MD, FACS has been named Chief of Urology in the Department of Surgery at Brown / Brown University Health Hospitals and President of Brown Urology, Inc. Dr. Pareek is Professor of Surgery (Urology) and Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Residency Program

As a resident, you will benefit from our integrated five-year training program, with 6 months in general surgery and specialties, followed by four years in urology.

Urology is a comprehensive subspecialty that focuses on surgical and medical aspects of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive tract. Our department is committed to expand urological knowledge through research and education so we may deliver the best possible care to our patients. Experts in the Division of Urology have dedicated themselves to advancing their field through thoughtful and groundbreaking research.

The Division of Urology is home to research programs investigating mechanisms of disease, translating discoveries in the laboratory to clinical trials, and making experimental treatments available to patients with complex and challenging conditions.

Basic research and clinical research within the department is augmented by research collaborations with investigators and faculty from a wide range of scientific disciplines from The Warren Alpert Medical School and Rhode Island Hospital/Miriam Hospital.

Education

The enthusiasm of our faculty for teaching is evident not only in the clinical setting but also in the classroom, yielding a richly diverse didactic teaching schedule.
